What is a Facet Joint Injection?
A Facet Injection is an injection of local anaesthetic and/or steroid into and
around the facet joint. These are small paired joints at the back of the spinal
column.
Preparation
You will need to make an appointment for this examination.
There is no specific preparation and you may eat and drink as you desire before
and after the procedure. If you take Warfarin or other blood thinning agents,
notify the booking staff as this may require cessation or blood tests prior to
the procedure. You will be asked to sign a consent form prior to the procedure.
